It's fine if you don't agree with me!

Just yesterday night, before we all went to sleep,

my dad put on his radio set, and for me, I had detached myself from listening to radio, except on Saturday's where I get to listen to my favorite presenter whom I became a fan of when I was in

SSS 1.

I was about to enter into my room, when the conversation between this two presenters held me back. Curious of "which and what" I went back, now close to where the radio set is.

When it was time for people to comment, with interest I waited for people's call to come in,

the annoying part of the thing is that the point they make didn't go well with me.

The talk is about, "either speaking the mother tongue (Yoruba) or speaking English, which one is important". As if that argument wasn't enough, they then proceeded to the one that made me really high πŸ˜†

It says "will you marry a woman who can't speak English".

In my mind, I was like who doesn't want a good thing.😁

I really wish you listened to the caller's reply.

Truth be told,  I was displease with the idea of the people who laid their comment.

Many of them were on the opinion that "the local language matter while the English language is just pure nonsense".

I was like and you are praying to go abroad, what will you be speaking there?. Your Nigeria language? πŸ€”

Someone even made one of the awkward (I won't say stupid, because we are all entitled to our own opinion) comment, I will ever hear in recent time.

she said a rich man's daughter can marry a guy who doesn't go to school(you would agree with me that mostly people who don't go to school in my country can't speak English).

In my mind I was like seriously! πŸ€”

In this 21st centuryπŸ‘€, to much of Nollywood is affecting this one.

To be frank enough the argument isn't what I really want to go into.

What I want you to know is, the two are important.

I love promoting culture as a person, but with this kind of country we find ourselves, if you want to go global learn the other language.

Imagine comparing Nigeria to China.🧐

As an individual it is important that you update yourself, there are many secret to that success you are aiming, that you would never find in your local language as a Nigerian.

From the look of things, one thing I really believe is,

if something was written in a language that is not common to everyone, but the main goal is for everyone to see and be able to read it, so they can understand.

You must translate it to general language that almost everyone understands, else it won't get anywhere (the supposed information would be nonsense).

So for me in this present planet I know, I believe English is the common language that we need to learn.

More importantly, do not displace one for the other, they are both essential.
